"A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of happiness bound with constant unrest"- Albert Einstein

A universal desire by the vast majority of human beings is to be happy. Einstein gifted us with his insight. Perhaps we can adopt Einstein's Theory of Happiness by:

-Live with ease and grace

-Be pleasantly free

-Seek peace and serenity

-Feel good in the moment

-Be grateful

TODAY: Put the breaks on your fast paced lifestyle. Free yourself from mental anquish and noise by being in control of your thoughts. Practice doing one thing at a time and devote your complete attention to this particular task. Stay present by truly being in the moment. Acknowledge your accomplishments. How did this bring happiness during the day?

 JOURNEY TO WHOLENESS-Reflection For Today

"I find joy in my zest for life"

For his anger endureth but a moment, and in His favor is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Acknowledge your feelings and know that eveything happening in your life is of value for your spiritual growth. You are not stuck in the past or in the present moment. There is always the next moment. Have faith, keep an open heart, and trust that all is well. This too shall pass.

TODAY: Spread your love and share your joy. What makes you feel joyful today?

Allowing yourself to truly see the beauty of who you are and your gifts, is when you really start to experience all of he bliss that your life can be--Kuan Yin

Reflection For Today - The Long Journey Home

We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all of our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time- T. S. Eliot

Where is home? Is it a physical place? Is it a spiritual place? Home is where the heart is!Home is the place where we connect with our inner being that radiates self-love, self-compassion, and self-forgiveness and therefore mirrored in our external reality. This inner joy lies within. As we exhibit these virtues within we become more authentic in our relationships with others.

After feeling disconnected and disillusioned, by society's definition of success and happiness, I was gifted with an opportunity to find my way home through a gifted healing journey of self-renewal and self-discovery that led me far away from my physical home and ultimately back home to my true self. I always felt a strange pull toward the Orient perhaps attributed to a fruitful past life connection. There, I felt like a stranger at home. Upon returning, many said there was peace and a light in my face that I was oblivious to. I took steps to maintain that peace which was sometimes quite challenging.

Kuan Yin is the Goddess of compassion, mercy and kindness. Being an avid collector of Asian art, I acquired an admired statue of Kuan Yin. Upon gazing at this lovely symbolic image daily, it always reminded me of compassion. Unfortunately, while clearing items from my previous home, in preparation for a move, the statue was placed in a box that was accidentally given away. A couple of years later, while driving through a nearby city, I spotted an antique shop and dropped in for a visit. Upon entering the establishment, my eyes immediately focused on my long lost Kuan Yin statue. I was astounded. It was a miracle!

TODAY: Demonstrate kindness and compassionate to yourself and others. How did it change your feelings and outcome during the course of the day?

"Happiness is in the journey, not in the destination. Happy is he who has lofty and noble aspirations. Happy is he who is enriching the lives of all those agout him. Happy is he who allows others to live peacefully without distubing them. Happy is he who is contributing something to make the world a better place in which to live. Happy is he whose work, whose chores, whose daily tasks are labours of love. Happy is he who loves. Happy is he who is happy"--K. Sri Dhammananda

TODAY: Make it a point today to find something that makes ou happy even in the midst of the most challenging siutations. It does not have to be grand--just simple. How did you feel, and how dis this change your state of being?

JOURNEY TO WHOLENESS: Reflection For Today

"Release the old and embrace the new''

The ebb and flow of the cycles of nature, as the seasons change and the gradual transition of the day from morning to night, are constant reminders of the life cycle from birth to death. Nature's creative process is natural without struggle. Just as nature renews itself, so can we. Use life experiences as teaching tools to better ourselves and serve for the greater good. Our journey here on earth is limited. How can we grow with the ebb and flow of life? Each moment is an opportunity to begin again. Start a new chapter.

TODAY: Reflect on a positive trait or characteristic that defines who you really are. Perhaps it is something noticed frequently by others. Radiate this trait or characteristic during the day. Pay attention and write down how you feel when you exhibit this characteristic or trait and the impact it has on those you encounter.
