LIFE IS A JOURNEY

"The journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one's feet." --Lao Tzu

our way.  Traveling on the beaten path and the road less traveled.
Eventually finding our way home to the place of spiritual rest and fulfillment.'

Are you feeling tired and exhausted as a result of life trials and our current world challenge? Our peace can be disrupted by the outside world including people, situations and events. It is up to us to preserve our peace. Dalai Lama quotes, "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace".

When I feel rushed and hurried, I lose something, break something or forget something. When I feel out of sorts, preoccupied with the past and worried about the future, I feel it in my body and bring myself to a Halt. Collecting myself in the stillness of Peace, I take deep breaths that connect me to the present moment. In a meditative state, I transport myself to a familiar place and space in time when I was in perfect peace and joy. Taking a long walk in a beautiful tropical environment with the soft breeze and huge tropical leaves gently brushing against my face, the sunshine glistening through the trees. Refreshed and renewed, I feel a sense of peace and calm. I set an intention for harmony, divine stability and divine guidance. Gratitude feels my heart and I know all is well.

What is causing you disturbance and disrupting your peace? Do you have a pressing decision to make?  Relax in the serenity  and stillness of the present moment. Take deep cleansing breaths. Recall a place, person or environment that brought you peace. Feel it and immerse yourself in divine peace, love and joy. Set your intention to be guided to the best solution. From a peaceful mind, solutions flow. Be patient and grateful,  and know it is already done. Be alert to the signs and synchronicities as you go about your day. Journal your experience and progress.

Peace is our natural state of being and brings so many positive emotions. It takes Patience, an ingredient of Love.  It is not an escape from problems but brings forth courage, clarity and understanding to confront problems. There is Victory in peace, and we should aim for this in all life circumstances.  Practice and Live in your natural state of being and see your life change.

We all have experiences with people who exhibit behaviors that are obnoxious, rude, annoying and downright cruel. We may regard these people as unlovable and unloving. We wrestle with how to love them and treat them well. These people sharpen our skills and show us how to Love unconditionally. We have to allow them to change us. This is want we have in our control. We cannot change others, but ourselves. So, through them, we set intentions not only to bless them but allow them to change us. Allow them to help us strengthen and embody our Practice of Love. It is not easy, but the benefits are enduring.

Whether it's the unfair boss, deceitful friend, unhappy customer, or the bully who uses threat tactics as attempts to stifle and control you, it is hard to love these perceived unlovable people. I have learned to not take it personal, not to take it to heart. It's their stuff being projected to you. I bless them with hope that they may eventually see the light and move beyond their own misery. Use these opportunities to grow in Love.

As Henry Drummond quotes, "Do not grudge the hand that is moulding the still too shapeless image within you. Its growing more beautifu...though you see it not; and every touch of temptation may add to its perfecttion. Be among men and among things and among troubles, and difficulties and obstacles Talent develops itself in solitude; character in the stream of life."

Think about a person in your life who is annoying. You already know how this person typically makes you feel. Change your approach. Know that we are Divine Sparks of Love that become overshadowed with fear, trauma and life experiences. As you interact with this person, practice loving-kindness. How does this make you feel? Abide in Love... Triumph in the Spirit of Love!

"We cannot dream perfect character; we do not get it in our sleep; it comes to us as muscle comes, through doing things. Character is the muscle of the soul, and it is developed by the practiceof the muscles, and by exercising it upon actual things; hence our work is the making of us, and it s by and through our work that divine grace' is communicated to our soul." -Henry Drummond   The art of Love should be our supreme concern and Practice  that requires awareness,  committment, concentration and discipline

The virtues of LOVE make up the Supreme Man. These virtues include: Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Humility, Courtesy, Unselfishness, Good Temper, Guilessness, and Sincerity.  As Leo Buscaglia quotes, " In Love, each man is his own personal challenge."

Select one of the virtues of which you have the most difficulty.  Practice Being this virtue in your thoughts, words and actions toward yourself and others.  Which virtue did you select? What does this virtue really mean? Think about it, meditate upon it, immerse yourself in the meaning? Are you ready? Start your practice. Keep your LOVE LIGHT Journal. How does practicing this virtue make you feel? How does it improve your relationship with yourself and others?

LOVE is our natural state of being. As Rumi Quotes,"Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder." Help someone heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd." Display 'Random Acts of Kindness' without being known.  Be aware of your motivation for extending a helping hand.  Is it recognition? Are you operating from your Ego? Are you genuinely interested in helping in the Spirit of Love.  Reach out and help someone stay afloat. Give support by doing small things. Check on someone who lives alone. As you shine your Love Light, you cannot keep in from yourself.

Humility is a virtue of Love. "The chief sources of unrest are pride, unsatisfied selfishness and ambition that makes inner peace impossible. We aspire to the top to look for Rest; it lies at the bottom. Water rests only when it gets to the lowest place. So do men. Hence, Be Lowly. The man who has no opinion of humself at all can never be hurt if others do not acknowledge him. Hence, Be Meek."-Henry Drummond

Find peace and rest in humility. Cultivate Humility: Do not put yourself above others, Be modest, Deliberately and intentionally listen to others, Express concern for others, Reframe from comparing yourself to others, Recognize your flaws; Admit when your are wrong; Be apologetic when necessary;  Compliment others, Always be grateful for what you have;  Show compassion for others; Do a good deed for someone without them knowing it was you.  Make every moment of your life count!

Demonstrate HUMILITY and reflect on how it makes you feel. How does being humble improve your relationship with others? What did you learn about yourself by being Humble?

''I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do, any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. '' William Penn

Kindness is LOVE. What the world needs now is kindness.

How easily is it done? How instantaneously it acts. How infallibly it is remembered. How superabundantly it pays itself back. There is a difference between trying to please and giving pleasure. Give pleasuire. Lose no chance of giving pleasure. For that is the ceaseless and anonymous triumph of a loving spirit (Henry Drummond).

These are some of behaviors that represent Acts of Kindness: Benevolent, Compassionate, Charitable, Tender, Friendly. Are there others you think of? What does kindness mean to you? What does it feel like when you are being kind? Reflect on a loving experience when someone was kind to you? Who was the person? Where did it happen? When did it occur? What did they do? How did you this act of kindness make you feel?

During the course of the week, be mindful of kindness. Keep a journal on acts of kindness displayed to you and acts of kindness displayed by you. How did these acts inspire you, uplift you and make your more loving?
